    Calling for GFX help!

    Hi Folks,

I have blown my GFX card, it is... sorry was, a Gainward Geforce 7600 GTS (Golden Sample), bandwidth of 22.4 GB/s. I'm looking for a suitable replacement but don't want to spend more than R600 - R700 as the rest of the system is old, and I don't want 2nd hand.

Can Anyone help in the Randburg area?

    Thanks in advance

Look for a dual display card, 2 monitors makes your productivity go up. It is much easier to copy and paste between programmes.
Only stress when you can change the outcome!

Sorry Dave, lots of questions. What do you use the pc for, gaming, CAD, graphics (photoshop etc), entertainment (movies and music) or general home or office use? Can you list the programs that you use, especially the graphics intensive ones?

    Thanks

    GFX Solved

    Thanks Folks

I have managed to get a Geforce GT240 1Gb @R599.00 from a friend of a friend, it has a bandwidth of 32.0GB/s and runs very well.

It's an old PC used primarily for surfing, low end gaming, and a University student's research, etc. The above card is actually better than the rest of the machine, maybe soon I will need to consider a replacement, waiting for my ship to come in first.
