    Portable DB boxes

    Hi guys,

Im looking for a portable distribution box that can run off a stove mains supply.

I need to draw 40-45Amps safely without overloading the circuit. Is there any company selling these?

    thanks for the help!

    Chris

It would be easier to make up your own box to your particular requirements. All the parts required are available at any decent electrical wholesaler. Most electrical contractors make and use something similar as a site supply box on large construction sites.

I took a Nema enclosure and built a "Custom site box" to meet my requirements. If you prefer you could use a York box too. The metal suits me beter because it is more robust.

Here's an online catalogue http://www.acdc.co.za/catalogue.php and they also have a downloadable pricelist in ZAR as well.

If your box will be moved around a lot I would suggest using at least a mastlight trailing cable or preferrably HO5/HO7RNF neoprene. Standard PVC cabtyre won't last long
