    aluminum or copper

    i have a question for all the bright sparks...which cable has a greater volt drop copper or ally and why?

    and please go into detail about magnetic and non magnetic fields...ferrous and non ferrous materials.

    Copper cables allow superior power transfer than aluminium. Besides the different local & ideal material properties of copper versus aluminium, the grain size of the different materials, corrosion aspects & so forth, need to be evaluated.

    Typically, when aluminium cables begin to create major resistance after a few years, they will be replaced with copper. You may save some upfront cost by using aluminium cables, but, it will get you later.
