Some insight from the Internet gurus here would be interesting...

Personally I believe that lower costs will explode entrepreneurship in this country and will effectively create jobs to the new generation that enters the job market. Funny how our sweet government do not realize this...

Government are very restrictive in there thoughts seemingly believing that government will by itself create jobs and solve unemployment. This is my impression anyways. By lowering the costs of bandwidth and communication in general will definitely bring more money into the country as well.

My 5c however is that a cause like this is a complete waste of time as it is demanding competitive pricing and not properly explaining the positive effect it will have on the economy.

This comment on the page sums it up pretty well, I think.
This page is really lame. No amount of whining on Facebook is going to make your connection faster or cheaper. You had better announce your big 'plan' soon and god help you if this is some marketing campaign for another usless service
I feel that Mybroadband has been chirping away at this for ages already, and they're pretty organised. Is a "new" movement on Facebook going to achieve more?

You pretty much sum up my feelings Dave. Apart from which, Facebook groups are notoriously self serving and all show but no go!

I get angry when I see stuff like this. Free the net... the truth is innovation and technology will free information not some dude thinking he stands for all of us. Secondly I will have more luck sending smoke signals to communicate to ET then getting Telkom’s attention with this feeble attempt.

If anything history showed me that the anger of the people changed laws... Mass anger like 1 million angry South Africans walking towards the Telkom building will place a unhappy tingle even in the biggest set of brass balls.

If you want to get noticed bring your A game or stay away, start with getting a voice on the local radio set up SMS systems do your bloody homework and then start a proper movement with a infrastructure that can be represented to our law makers and THEN demand for action.
