Agricultural unions said on Sunday they were caught off guard by news government was considering declaring all productive land a national asset.

It was one of two proposals contained in the Department of Land Reform’s Strategic Plan presented to parliamentarians last week.

Grace Mugabe style: http://www.ipocafrica.org/index.php?...news&Itemid=82 "Pay and conditions for workers at the dairy are meagre. A 25-year-old worker, with a child to care for, said she could not afford to buy the milk at $1 (62p) a litre."

Or locally: It's every scumbag's dream. First you take the land, pay a quarter of its value if anything, then you sell it to a foreign company. Then even later you force these companies to sell you back a majority stake. "Firms worth more than $500,000 (£332,000) run by non-indigenous people have five years to sell a 51% stake, upon the threat of jail sentences. " http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8542966.stm

Or simply you could just take it back for being unproductive from the new black owners. "Land reform minister Gugile Nkwinti warned the land might be repossessed if the farms continued to fail." http://www.amren.com/mtnews/archives..._africa_bl.php
