    Thumbs up Neotel

My first experience with Neotel was disappointing. There were no phones available in Cape Town, so one had to come from Gauteng. Then we discovered that the Excellent signal that we had been promised was in fact not so. A technician came out and tested the signal and arranged for a booster antenna to be fitted.

It took almost a month before we could connect to the Internet. To be fair to Neotel, they provided the antenna and had it installed, saving me the cost of having it done (approx R700.00)

So I published an article on my blog, to vent my frustration. To be honest, I did not expect anything to come of it. To my surprise there was a comment from Hugo Troskie at Neotel. I have since spoken to him. The fact that Neotel is prepared to listen and act proactively in the face of bad publicity, is a major plus in their favor.

Hugo Troskie is manager of the Noise Division and can be contacted as follows.

They've been marketing big time in my area. Unfortunately until there is fixed line porting it isn't financially justfiable to change.

Great to hear that they at least pay attention Something their fixed line competitor isn't exactly famous for.

How are you finding the connection speeds for internet?

    Neotel

I am using the Neotel Prime, which is supposed to connect at 2.4mpbs, not sure what the actually speed is, but it is faster that the 384kbs adsl line that I had with Telkom. The only drwback is you cannot use the phone whilst online.
