Labour Brokers - Evil neccisity or just evil?

With Labour Broking being in the spotlight and a concept that has good an dbad elements I thought this would be an interesting topic for our newly created Labour Forum, thank you DAve and co. So is Labour broking neccessary or is it just a form of Slave Labour?

I appreciate Marq has made an eloquent case for labour brokers in the situation of skills that tend to be needed on occasion by companies (as opposed to on a continuous basis) and that the system helps ensure more regular employment for these people. However this justification falls flat where the post is needed to be filled by the company on a continuous basis.

Business is going to tend towards the most viable solutions in most instances. Accordingly I lean towards the position that the main reason labour brokering is attractive to companies is because of the restrictive nature of our labour legislation. Labur broking is not the real problem, it is a symptom of deeper structural problems.

C'mon guys and gals - there must be more opinions on this. Make yourself heard!
