What are the pointers for a flawed leader?

You can measure the potential for failure by the number of bodyguards a politician has. The bigger the convoy, the more likely he is to fail, to be a dictator.

Quite a hard-hitting little article, that.

Thanks for the link. This spoke to me even more.
So the danger is not past?
This is our tipping-point. From here things will go downhill; no liberation movement has moved upwards from this point. The [ANC] coalition is holding because there's an election to be won. Afterwards the left will have to come to terms with the business and the populist elements in the coalition; this is a postponed fight. The unions should have supported policies, not an individual.
    I hope he is wrong.
Only stress when you can change the outcome!

Wow, quite a nasty article really, but the sad reality, i think someone who has the guts to say and see it for all it is. Mentioned before i know, but say it again, as an ex zim the signs and actions of this government are EXACTLY the same as what occured in Zim. How is it then that anyone can think the outcome will be any different?
He's hit the nail on the head with politicians and why they are chosen as well. The problem becomes self perpetuating with time. Its not Mugabe does not want to step down - he's tired, cant cope. It's he cannot step down for his safety and cronies. They are responsible for corruption, genocide, murder etc. If he steps down, they all go down .. prison and the likes. They are forced to retain control or suffer the ultimate humiliation

Its becoming the same. ANC cant lose. If they do, to many questions to be answered, to much money lost. The money is still there so fight for 2 causes.

It is quite a big picture article!

Reading between the lines, it seems the best thing that can happen is the "liberation party" loses an election and gets replaced with a party built on a democracy base as soon as possible.

Oh the possibility and thought of that is just to much! Anyway it was a nice dream... I'd say spot on, exactly what he is saying. Mark my words though... it will be rigged before that is allowed. I really hope and wish i could be wrong..

As long as we think of it as a pipe–dream it will never happen. We have to starting thinking and acting like it will happen...because it will.

Eish!! One man one vote once!! at least we have had two elections with a third looming, but is this the last?
    I hope not.
Like they said when Mbeki tried for a third term "What was he thinking?"
I hope the voters tell the ANC "What are you thinking?"

And just this morning Zuma was quoted in the Natal Mercury as saying that there was no room in the ANC for people who are corrupt!

    This would be the rationale:

You are only corrupt if you have been found guilty of corruption. Until that day, it never happened.
