I have a Mercedes C200 that has been standing at my office for year now!!!
Mostly I just not had the time to prepare and sell the car.
So about a month ago I started parking the vehicle outside my office with a for sale sign.
A week ago two guys came into the office and said they were cash buyers.
They just needed to hear the car start. Because it was not driven for a year the battery was not in order and I spent R1500 on a new battery.
The next day they never came back.
Two days ago they were back, eager to do the deal.
I had one of my guys show them the car, started it and they walked around and kicked the tires.
The they said that the money man would be in town later that day and they would be back.
The guy politely locked the car and even checked the doors.
Off they went, not more than 3 minutes later my guy went outside again and the car was gone.
Astounded he though how could they steal the car in less than 3 minutes.......
he still had the key in his pocket......he looked at it in amazement and realized they swapped keys. The moment they had the keys in their hands they made the swap.

This is a warning to all private sellers. Don't let your car keys out of you hands when in the presence of a potential buyer.
