    Help with consumer rights.

    Not sure if this is the correct place to post this.
    I paid R750 a year and a half ago for a subscription to a financial magazine for 1 year. They also stated that if I do not cancel my subs for the following year, they will automatically take the money from my account. I sent them an email 6 months ago to stop the subs.
    Now they have deducted R970 from my account. No warning to say they are going to do this. I have no proof of the email. (obviously)
    Are they allowed to do this? They do not reply to my emails to reverse this.

    Where can I complain to?

    Ouch!

    Sometimes when emails don't work, sending a fax does better.

    You have no "sent items" folder? Records really help in any "argument."

    Please name and shame the magazine involved so that we can all be "aware" of what to avoid.

    I had a similar problem with "Finance Week" a few years ago. They are part of Koos Bekker's Phutuma Nathi, not for the whitey, lot, Naspers / Afpers.

    Thanks guys, the money was reversed today.
    Somewhat of a downer as I love a good fight. Gives me something to do.
