    insurance

i hear insurance companies are requesting that companies have a thermal inspection done on their electrical installation before they will be covered for fire.

i have heard that some big companies are saying so long as the insurance company pays for the thermal audit.

i also heard that since the load shedding there have been a lot more fires caused by electrical faults...anyone else know of this kind of prblem.

Hasn't that been mainly on the switchgear though? That's what got hammered during all the switching on and off.

over the past 2 years i have had some fun with my camera been to game reseves and found animals in the dark...found the cause of my bakkie overheating...saved one of my new customers a lot of money by detecting a huge unbalance on their main distribution board...we balanced the load and now they save more than R2000 a month on their electricity bill...i traced a fault on a distribution panel which the electrical contractor would just keep reseting over a 6 month period...they couldnt determine what the cause was within 10 minutes of scanning i identified the problem and advised the maintenace team who contacted the electrical company...it hasnt tripped since...i have even used it to trace pipes in a wall by letting the water flow through the pipes i was able to trace the pipe in the wall because of the temperature difference...just to mention a few uses...now the good news is in the next couple of weeks i will be offering my services to anyone who requires thermal imaging (hot spot detection) not only my current customers...i will also be expanding my operation and taking on 2 or 3 new customers.
