It's wierd how we learn about our own history. In this article from Personal Finance about Sanlam's and Alexander Forbe's alleged involvement in pension fund surplus stripping, there's this little snippet:
Until it was closed down in 1999, Sankorp was the investment arm of Sanlam. It was initially set up in 1946 under the name of Bonuskorp to enable Sanlam to empower Afrikaner-owned businesses.
