    Hi Scorp,

I know what you're referring to, don't worry In my case, all the power supplies on my desk as different. It's actually irritating, but it prevents problems just like this.

This particular enclosure is a client's, and he only has the one. The sad thing is, I just got it, put a new 250GB HDD in, and backed up his laptop to it - before sending it in for repairs. He got a new laptop back, with an empty HDD, and we started copying his data back to the laptop, all went smootly. And about 10% down the line, I smelt the HDD. Luckely the 250GB HDD was fairly new, so I got another one and swapped the PC boards out, and used a different enclosure to copy the client's data back.

To make sure it's the enclosure and not the drive, I tested it with a 80GB from a different manufacturer & supplier - also burnt out

What is the time limit on reversing a payment made for a product purchased on the internet (if there is one) I seem to remember something about being able to reverse a payment made to an internet merchant for up to 90 days? is this correct?

If so just reverse your payment and wait for them to knock down the door!

If you paid with your credit card, I think you can dispute the transaction with the credit card company up to ( I think ) 6 months.

Just tell your credit card company you were scammed and sold faulty products and see if they will reverse the transaction.

Just to update on this. I ended up taking their offer (and got "run over" by them), but this will defenately be the last time I deal with, support or recommend Esquire to anyone. Sure, R200 is not a lot of money, and I don't need to to pay my bills, but it's a matter of principle that they don't understand, and a business I won't support anymore, AT ALL.
