I've just sent this mail to a contact of mine (Mark Corke, from www.SuiteGum.co.za) who sells businesses. His company is probably the best business broking biz in SA.

Anyhoo, while I wait on his response, I was wondering if I could get some feedback from you guys on this...

Hi Mark,

I figure that there's no harm in asking so here goes...

As you know, I run www.FreeArticles.co.za. It's a damn good web site and was making me in the region of R6,000 per month with nearly zero effort. (I literally just checked my AdSense earnings each day)

However, it's got much more potential than that. I envision, with some serious effort and investment (and modelling www.ArticlesBase.com), I can get it up to R70,000 a month and maybe more. The trouble is that I'd need to work on it pretty much full-time to achieve that.

Do you know of any investors that would consider something like this for part-ownership? I'd be willing to give as much as 49% of my business away to someone who's willing to pay my living expenses for 6-8 months while I do the work necessary to make this thing work. I would have to commit to this 70% to 100% and drop virtually everything else I'm doing but that's OK. I'm even OK with working in an office or other requirements an investor might have. I just want to grow this site to its true earning potential instead of waiting for some competition to come along and wipe me out.

And if I don't reach my target, I'd also be prepared to face the consequences. (Like paying the investment back over a period of time and with interest.)

Can this be done? I'm looking at R220,000 - R260,000 investment.

Feel free to be brutally honest. I don't mind a reality-check.

Cheers

Norio
