    Hi ChatMaster

As far as I can see, there's no common ground between the services of Newspad and IregMail, so a comparison would not be possible.

Whereas Newspad appears to be a mass / bulk e-mailer ( eg .. 1 newsletter to a mailing list or multiple recipients ), IregMail is used for delivery confirmation of individual e-mails.

Newspad has a reporting system build into it that actually tells you how many mails have been displayed etc. I was just wondering if there was some synergy between the two as I am utilizing Newspad atm.

That's the bit that interested me. phpList also produces a report that tells you how many views and unique opens your mail gets. And it certainly does not trigger the confirm receipt Yes/No question in Outlook.

I think PHPlist uses a hidden image with some javascript, but I am not 100% sure.

Don't think is uses javascript or an hidden image as both could potentially be blocked by a email clent. Probably something in the header. We are busy launching a new system now which has the reporting system in it. I will chat to the developers and see how they are doing it.

The only problem I have with this is that the increased presence of phishing on the internet and the subsequent warnings going out might make people wary to click on something they don't know.

It would be better, in my opinion to run a script in the background that would allow the person to see the email without having to follow the link.

How ever I do think you method is the easiest solution around the plain text/html problem, presuming you have thought about that already.

I would appreciate feedback from them as well. Most applications I know uses the 1x1px image but it is unreliable because it can be blocked and doesn't work with plain text mails. If there is a wat to get pass that problem I would definitely like to know.
