It goes beyond that. If the work has been done, payment is due. Period.

One of the big problems I'm finding is when a client is sitting without power, it's a case of "do whatever it takes to get the power back on." When the bill arrives, suddenly there are chequebook problems.

I have a client that are very much the same. He has the money, but his entire life he has been operating in a way that makes my head spin. He believes in money works for him, not the other way around. He will only pay his bills once the creditor has threatened legal action. This way he has a couple of months to make use of someone else's money to make him more money. I know it sounds funny, but this came out at the 19th hole a couple of weeks ago when I asked him when I can expect his next payment. When I asked him if he has ever been blacklisted he said, all the time but who cares! Mmmmmmm, was that the liquor talking or does he really not care?
