    telkom adsl

i would like to find out if anyone has had the pleasure of dealing with telkom adsl faults department...with 30 million unemployed people you have to still sit and patiently wait for someone to answer the call as the help line is experiencing high call volumes...i was lucky this time i only had to wait for just over an hour for someone to answer my call then another 15 minutes to get a fault number which you need to be able to go and join the many other patient people at your local telkom walk in service centre...now i can see why call centre training is big bussiness at the moment.

if i change to iburst do you experience the same exceptional service?

If you are on ADSL, rather call the Telkom business service number. They can still help you log an ADSL line fault and they answer the phone much faster

You do have ADSL for business, don't you

They auto-call you back and put you into the call queue? That is beyond rude

This morning I got up earlier than usual and decided to watch BBC World for a change. There's a story running of a purchase bid for the "South African telecommunications monopoly, Telkom."

It was the way it was said. Clearly the view that Telkom is a monopoly is an international one.

Neotel is supposed to go live to consumers sometime within the next month or so. They have certainly been digging up the roads and pavements around our area.

Andre - how accurately do we need to give our area to know if we're within coverage?

For example - how far has rollout got in Durban so far?
