    For me, this is the core of the issue:
    A class-action lawsuit against Microsoft over the sale of "Vista-capable" PCs has been approved to go forward by US District Court Judge Marsha Pechman. The suit, which revolves around square-inch stickers saying "Windows Vista Capable" and attached to PCs before Vista was officially launched, will be limited to the question of whether Microsoft had artificially inflated PC prices during the 2006 holiday shopping season. Judge Pechman also ruled that number of members in the class should be limited.
    Sure - those new machines late 2006 cost a bit more. But the XP machines were being dumped at bargain basement prices.

    I know - I got one serious core 2 duo machine with XP Pro that normally retailed at R17k for R8k. I was not complaining
