I need some ideas for a very basic backup system, really just for the network stuff, but if it can keep the CCTV switched on and the TV, that would just be an added bonus.
There are so many options, I thought one of those small power packs would do the job, but it only lasts a few hours.
The backup must last for at least 16-24 hours.
Load shedding happens on the rare occasion, however I have noticed that 12-36 hours grid failures are becoming a lot more common, about as common as cable theft (seems to be happening a lot more frequently).
I know a Sunsynk 8 kw with 2 x 5 kwh batteries and a bunch of panels on the roof would be great, but not everyone has R100K to throw at solar.
My thoughts: a similar setup to an RV, a panel on the roof, an MPPT and a 50 amp/hr lithium battery, a couple 12 volt plugs, a couple USB plug mounted on a battery box.
This unit was on special a while back for R4999, I should have purchased one when it was on special.
