You bought a 1200 VA...12 VDC trolley type inverter, I know you didn't connect it to your house because you know you are not allowed to.
The bigger problem is people not understanding the inverters capacity (720 watts), its not a 1200 watt inverter, so you can't run your fridge or 10 computers or laser printers and all the other crazy things people connect to them.
If you do overload the unit, it will go into fault mode, which means the main board has popped and the replacement cost turns it into a disposable product (bin it).
These units are designed for very light loads.
