Hi,
I would like to understand an electrical problem I have encountered in the home.
I have a fluorescent fitting in the kitchen and a LED in the bathroom. They are both on the same circuit.
A few times at night when I switch on the kitchen fluorescent, it causes the LED to flicker in the bathroom.
The bathroom light is in the off position when this happens. It would seem to me that this is a surge from the fluorescent possibly through a neutral.
I have heard of "negative resistance" zones in a magnetic ballast, but don't fully understand. Can someone help me to understand what could be happening here.

Can be a loose neutral , the magnetic choke can shift the phase creating a " false live " on the neutral
Is the bathroom have an indictor light on the switch , dimmer
Strange thinks happen with loose neutrals and earths

Thank you for the reply.
The bathroom does not have an indicator light on the switch. The flicker is in the LED fitting itself.
I agree that it is strange and understand that it must have something to do with the neutral as that would be the only path for a "false live".
I just don't understand how the magnetic choke shifts the phase? Does it have to do with non-ohmic behaviour with the drop of current and the increase in voltage?
I will keep on researching to find out. Really appreciate your response.
