What is pass through capability?
From the grid to the inverter, including the UPS and charge capacity, OR
The solar capacity to charge the battery and charge the battery, OR
A combination of both, OR
The current which can passthrough the relay to the UPS output, when not in islanding mode?
"edit - The solar capacity to charge the battery and charge the battery, OR"
The solar capacity to charge the battery, supply the UPS output and feedback to the grid? There seems to be some confusion, with regards to pass through current
Hello : )
Been following the thread but no time to really reply.
But today I had the chance to use a Fluke multi function tester. The very cool one that does it all.
Anyway I used my majortech earth loop tester thingy, blue and handheld.
With my one testing another Victron install I got 3.80ohms (somewhere there) on the earth loop.
I then used the fluke MFT and I got 1.2 (again somewhere there)...
So now I am wondering if my meter struggles with the inverter supply in determining the values.
We then tested the grid supply and both meters pretty much the same with a .1 or so difference.
Unfortunately it was not the install of where this thread was created but still something to consider with regards to readings.
Now it's time to find the R50odd thousand for a MFT...
Also side note tried the Earth loop tests at sockets with the no trip function and it worked amazingly !

My understanding of pass through is it is the amount of amps that can go through the inverter, it's internals will manage the battery charge depending on the load.
So let's say 50A max pass through, it will take in 50Amps to distribute to load and if their is any excess power to then charge the battery. So of the laid is 40Amps the excess of 10A will be used to charge the battery.
