This has just become a joke which at the end of the day, is just going to make the public spit out more money.

People say it is required because of the infrastructure, how well do you think the infrastructure is being managed and maintained at the moment. I am sure you dont have to be a qualified electrician to answer this question.

Lets ask a few questions.

1/ How many of the million solar or backup systems are registered right now?

2/ Are the municipalities ready for the SSEG registrations?

3/ Do they have the equipment, skilled staff and infrastructure to deal with SSEG registrations?

4/ Are there any registered engineers, correctly trained, skilled and experienced to deal with solar installations?

5/ What level of solar installation should require engineer approval, 5...10...15...30 kva

6/ Have the lithium battery installation regulations been released yet?

I wish people stop talking so much crap online and start producing facts, regulations relevant to the solar industry.

The way I see it right now., you can do what ever you want, use whoever you want to install and commission a system, just to reduce the effects of load shedding on your appliances, reduce the lead acid battery replacements and improve your security for your family and business.

Once everyone sorts out their differences, produces up to date regulations relevant to the current systems being installed, have skilled staff to deal with solar system installations and registrations, then offer a 1 or 2 year amnesty to let everyone catch up and become compliant. I would say about 2030, we should be ready.

So if you haven't registered your solar system yet, dont feel left out, I am sure you fall in the majority.

I would say we are at about 80% non registered and only around 20 % if that who are registered, I dare you to prove me wrong. (The Cape doesnt qualify for these stats, I hear they are around 60/40 at the moment.

I thought I would give everyone something to read, Its been quiet around here lately.

I have moved and just been dumped with another big project, so it looks like we busy until Jan2025
