    Nope. The white things are short pieces of 20mm conduit with a conduit clip to secure the cable. When you do not have the right size clips for securing a cable, here in our valley, you make a plan.

    A line tap is used to tap into a line. Mostly used on bare overheads, but we find other uses for them. It's a slotted threaded bar with a nut to fasten the cables being joined. A 10mm line tap can join 3 x 10mm wires easily. If you struggle just go one size up to 16mm and bingo. A easy way to join wires but have enough insulation tape handy.

    And I thought it was something like that! Thank you

    Seen them in Meter Points.

    I like that idea and see it a lot in cable jointing videos on YouTube.

    I bought a pile of these end connectors. They handy to use on the big cables, especially when you run out of space in a DB or dont have a busbar in the DB.

    @Dylboy ....... that's him.

    I like those pratley jobs that Isetech referenced. Will make a neater job than line taps. Shall see if I can get some here. I am never without a couple of line taps in my toolbox.

    We use rubber tape when we use line taps, so the pratley connectors is easier to just push the cap on which takes up less space and looks neater.

    We use a lot of line taps for overhead line work, its doesnt have to look neat, there is plenty of space out in the open. It sometimes more practical, if you dont want to cut a main line, you just strip a bit of the insulation and slip the line tap over the wire and attached the wire.

    Ah thanks gents ! Isetech sorry I had missed your post but that is very cool! I have seen that sort of connector but never knew what it was, normally on the council street lamps.

    This is something I want a couple in the tool box for the exact stuff you have both said.
