    Injured on duty

IF you are injured on your way to or from work, are you covered if you are involved in an accident?

IF you are taken hospital, must the hospital admit you to the ER?

Or injured in any way be it a vehicle or any other incident, like falling and breaking a leg, or any other type of injury?

In reference to your OP, no, that is not an IOD. An IOD is an injury that you incur while carrying out your work duties, as opposed to before or after your shift.

In reference to your second post, see above

Thanks I did my homework this morning and learnt that we are no longer covered, as in the past, when we were covered while travelling to and from work.

We haven't had an IOD claim for some many years that I didnt even have any documents in the office.

Apparently you are only covered while traveling in a work vehicle or at the office/work place.

Or if you happen to be on your way to see a client for a quote in the evening - Would not try to claim at 11 at night saying I was on the way to do a quote.

Knew a contractor that had a bike accident early evening , 19H00 and said he was on the way to see a client, it was covered.

What you are effectively saying is that a fictitious story is ok, as long as it's feasible.

I have no response to that.

    Have heard of it happening.

If I call one of my guys out to a client at night and he has an accident on the way there or on the way back it would be covered as far as I am aware.
We do work at shopping centers , commercial and factories and can often get called out at strange times throughout the night.

I dont understand your comment. I had a bike accident on a Saturday after noon at 4 pm, heading home from my last site visit. I use to do most of my quotes after hours, some nights I would be out till 10 pm. My motor bike is a company vehicle used for visiting sites, delivers and collections, etc.
