Installing Pastel V12.1.6 on new PC

I use Pastel Xpress V12.1.6 on a PC that runs Windows 7. As my PC is nearing the end of its lifespan I want to move over to my laptop that runs Windows 10 Pro. My installation files are on CD Rom and I am therefore unable to install from there. How else can I do the installation? I have previously tried files that were available online, but had problems with Pervasive and could not get Pastel to install properly.

If your windows 7 pc has a cd rom and you have got the installation files, copy them off the cd to a flash drive, then copy them over to your Windows 10 pc and install from there.
Grant at handshake systems has quite a few of the older versions available for download off his website - link below. If you don't come right / have the exact version - I am sure either Neville or I can pop it into a dropbox for you to download.

In Xpress on your working system - Help - About - confirm which version of Pervasive you need (It will be workgroup V9 or V12). Download and install Pervasive first, then install the Xpress.

Thank you Kevin. It required a good amount of persistence, but I eventually managed to successfully install Xpress V12.1.6 with the files on Handshake.

Hi Kevin or anybody that has the answer. My install wizard for Pastel V12 is wanting the Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack 2 (x86). I have looked through the handshake files and can not seem to find anything similar. Or am i just being dim?

They are part of the ISSetup prerequisites, along with the .NET framework 3.5 that needs to be installed (depending on your Windows OS version).

You can download from Microsoft. Filename is SSCERuntime-ENU.exe - I have included a link below. Install it before you install the V12 and you should be ok.

    Hi,
Does anyone maybe have the upgrade patch/file for V12.1.7 Beta 2?
