Charging battery with solar charger and inverter charger

Hi guys. I'm installing a inverter which charge the battery from the grid but want to connect a solar panel through a solar charge controller to that same battery. Will this work or am I missing something?
    Thanks

Also been thinking of this for my setup for when things get long...

So my inverter i can switch off the charge and then I would put in the PV charger.

May do a change over system for DC with contactors or manually do it.

Now there is parallel charging where if you have the grid and the PV both joined and charging but I do not know enough on that especially if there is a BMS for lithium.
So the parallel charging may be a good one.

Not 100% planned it through yet as my new issue is i need water backup as we are out almost every 3 weeks.

Yes you can charge batteries using both mediums or can charge simultaneously. It depends on batteries capacity and their condition of charge. In this case solar will work and supply current only if batteries are emptied and need more current otherwise, if inverter is supplying sufficient current then PV will not be generated.

That is intresting ! Makes sense that if the inverter is doing its job and charging let's say 30A that the charge controller for PV will not have a laod as such and not work as such.

Get yourself one of those pools with the metal frame, you get to swim in summer and have a backup water supply, the best part it doesn't fill up with mud when there are floods We had no water or electricity for 2 weeks, no problem. We normally just use buckets, but the way the infrastructure in this country is deteriorating, I plan to pipe the pool into the mains water. The other reason is the sewage is calculated on the water useage, so the plan is to pipe the toilets and washing machine, geyser directly to via the pool, it an all-round win. My gutter from my workshop and office is right next to the pool and we are at the bottom of the hill, so we have a constant flow of water through out property.

    Ahhh that's clever and a win !
We have a jacuzzi with this rental place that I have some water in but not very user friendly hahaha.

But I want to do the plumbing in bit as you say. Also needs to be removable as we don't own the spot and with the small one getting big we will be looking to move anyway.

Hopefully then to also incorporate rain water collection to!

The issue I see with rain water collection, the standing water becomes a problem, that's why I haven't installed JoJo tanks. The pool is open so when is starts looking bad, you just throw a shock treatment and walla the next day its clear again.

Yes agreed on the water being stagnant. Pondered to then bave it permanently feeding the house with a booster pump so that water is always flowing in and out.

Is that bad peactice for motor wear or an ok option ?
