    DB as a wire way.

    Hi all
Good new year to you all.
    Two questions.
    I have checked the regs.
    - I cannot find anything. Is it allowed to use a DB as a wire way for one of its circuits. The circuit will run in and then out the DB with surfix.
-Is it allowed to cut trunking into DB's sso and light switch boxes instead of using Glands.
    Thanks

    Good morning brother.

I cannot see a problem with either.

    1. As long as the supply to that circuit originates from that db, I don't see it being a problem.

    2. As long as the trunking protrudes into the enclosure, that's what I've been doing for years. It's a lot neater than ending the trunking 15cm from
the enclosure and having the bare cable enter the enclosure through a gland.

Tip: For small trunking ( yb1,2,3, or 4 ) we drill a round hole big enough for the trunking to fit and seal with contractors acrylic afterwards.
Quicker and easier than trying to cut a square or rectangular hole to accomodate the trunking.

    Peace out ... Derek Stuart
