D5 gate motor

Hello

Having issues with a D5 gate motor at a client.

When it closes it does not close all the way, about 100mm left to go then it says "motor stall" and then opens again. It repeated this until someone helps to push the last bit.

It is intermittent and only does it sometimes.

I re-did the gate limits and seems to work a few times then it acts up again for a bit.

Anyone know what to do or what else to check?

What i have checked:
-There are no items blocking it.
- it does not get to the wall on the other side to obstruct against. Originally appeared it did then I bent the hook away but to no avail.
- the
- the collision forces are on max (was set already like that)

The gate opens slowish then speeds up then slows down then does a very slow like final push to finish its process and say "closed " on the screen.

My feelings now is that the gate might be too heavy or the rack is too much on the pinion and the friction is creating false motor stalls when near the end of its run.

I do not do much gate motors and normally a limit setup sorts it.

Any guidence would be highly appreciated.

Check the wheels/bearing on the gate ... release the gear and push the gate ... or jack it up slightly and check the wheels ... collapsed or rusted or seized wheels ... also check guides are not seized.

Will do, I did some checks but the gate is heavy to push, some of the ladies there can't push it so I will jack up and check wheels and perhaps some special lubricant too.
I kept dismissing that idea but it appears more prominent now.

Problem when rushed is things get dismissed quickly to get lucky on the fault...

You live in JHB ... so I doubt it is rust ... it sounds like the wheels have collapsed.

A scissor type jack works

Yeah think wheels have gone bad now and a heavy gate... Will give them a bit of an oiling and see and if helps then will get them to get a gate guy to replace wheels... not my field and can't workmanship it haha.

And thanks.... was thinking how to lift it haha, was going with a koefoet and bricks... hahaha

+1 had this with my dads gate, he bought a new battery and asked me to help him install it... When I was installing the battery I noticed the one gate wheel was jamming which was causing the gate not to open or close during battery operation (load shedding at the time)

Of course I leave on Friday and no one is in tomrorow... hate un finished business.

May pop past and chuck some lube on the wheels from the outside to see if it helps while I'm away. Most staff not there either but some are and then can get some extra feed back when I return.
