I am at that point that I need to move forward ... as I mentioned I was going to close the doors (at 30 years) and move on to something different ... months are rolling by and I am just doing the routine to pay the bills ... making sure I dont earn more than I need to ... bad idea I know rather make money and pay the taxes.

Funny how things happen ... today I get a call and the customer says he wishes I could at least consult and take care of the site ... he is not happy with the contractor on site ... but I just dont have the time ... why because I am too busy doing shyte that I could pay someone a fraction of what I cost to drill holes in a wall or sort out "Mr tape it" ( his new name ... because everything is taped up ... no terminal blocks no soldering ... just twist and tape) crap workmanship ... by the way he comes highly recommended on all social media platforms

Never be too busy to take advantage of an opportunity. Work on your business, not in your business.
Your time is valuable. Would you pay someone R600 per hour to drill a hole in a wall? No. So why then are you wasting your time (and money) drilling holes?
Excellence is not a skill; its an attitude...

because I love what I do ... and the satisfaction of looking at a complete project or listening to comments when people walk into a factory and see the cable trays and cabling ... or the steel piping I did in a building where everything is laser leveled to perfection ... or the steel piping in the A/C plant rooms ... I got people in to finish the other ... eventually the guys came and told me I should rather the person who did the first one to come back and finish off the rest of them.

The frustration of watching people do things ... it drive me nuts ... silly things like put a mat down on counter tops before you start working ... using dust extractors on the machines etc etc ... it must be like an English teachers reading posts
