    EasyFile version 7.1.6 - Viewer

    The EMP501 August Reconciliation season has opened once again with updates to e@syfile to be done first.

    Mine normally suggests an automatic update which "usually" works. This time I got as far as getting the figures from SARS and I was told that the e@syfile viewer was not installed.

    So off to a full download and install. All seemed to go well and the viewer was installed.

    Back to getting the figures from SARS and the viewer just hangs. Three little dots displayed on the screen suggesting that it is working but nothing happens. I tried uninstalling JAVA (as the new e@syfile uses the 32-bit Java version that installs with version 7.1.6 which is Zulu JRE 8.46.0.19 (8u252) or 1.8.0.252

    Tried reinstalling - tried uninstalling and reinstalling - tried loading backup and re-loading the payroll ... nothing.

    Tried looking at February's reconciliation and the viewer works! So something seems to be wrong somewhere.

    Tried something different today.

    I restored a backup and this time said that I did not want to import the figures from SARS and the viewer worked.
    So the problem seems to be the import from SARS rather than the viewer as such.

    Loaded EasyFile this morning and was told that there was another update to their EasyFile Viewer ... so hopefully that solves the problem.

    For me the e@syFile upgrade process failed with error message:

    Sorry. An error has occurred.
    The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem. The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid. Please contact the application author.

    I tried downloading the full version and installing. I had to authorise the Java version install. But after that I had the same error as above.

    I suppose the next thing to try is uninstalling the current install, then installing the download...
    Might give that a go tomorrow if I feel like getting frustrated.

    Uninstalling e@syFile, Adobe AIR and the Java apps solved the certificate part of the upgrade problem.

    From there everything seemed to be going fine until I got to where Mike and Andromeda snagged. And I got snagged too.
    I got past it by:
    1. saving the download for the 1.3.1 viewer to my Downloads folder (rather than the obscure location the program seemed to want to save it to) as it seems the setup file that is downloaded does not autorun
    2. ran the setup file from the download folder
    3. closed the blank Viewer window
    4. restarted the View of return process under Declaration and proceeded to completion.

    Hopefully that helps anyone else who gets stuck with the Viewer upgrade issue.

    It seems that Java 7.80 is required for e@syfile to work, mine was deleted when I up[dated my Java and I cannot seem to find a copy of it on the web.

    Does any one of the members have an install file of it available, it will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Mike

    We now find that there is one particular computer in our office that works properly with it.

    As far as we can tell everything is the same, except the operating systems. The other computers ... no luck.
