    No stock

The new phrase for there is a price increase ... literally everyday ... I needed 300 m of 25 mm house wire ... no stock ... the price jumped from R52 per meter to R R65 in a matter of hours.

Bought 2.5 mm twin+E last week for R 12.75 per metre ... I was told there is no stock so the price today is R14.75 and will increase by the day until they receive stock.

The question is am I am holding my anckles and being butt f%^&* by the wholesaler ...or is everyone experiencing the same issue ?

Certain electronic components are out of stock, with expected delivery in 52 weeks time.
How do you run a business like this?

There is a huge shortage of copper world wide, and hence the lack of stock.

Having same problems in that it is becoming impossible to hold a price .
All copper , PVC and metal prices are increasing daily and stock shortages are a common problem.

You need to change your wholesale ... at R14.00 I am getting bent over and butt F%^& by the wholesaler.

Builders is the most expansive place to buy electrical items ... if your wholesaler is charging you more than builders ... then its own stupidity.

It might have been a mistake . I don't know. The codes and all look ok, but it does seem to be excessive.
At the end of the day, the client pays for it.Click image for larger version.

Before ARB loses customers, I need to report back.

Went in this morning and queried the invoice.

Turns out that the salesman made an honest mistake and charged for 4mm T&E instead of 2,5mm.

Their price for 2,5mm this morning was R15 / meter.

    Peace out ... Derek

    Copper

Guessing Joburg prices are a little better than else where.

R15 seems a bit cheeky to me. Guessing that must include VAT. If it doesn't include VAT that is definately a bit much.

I sent a message to all my customer saying quotes can only stand for a 7 days now and added a foot note that if stock not available from usual suppliers then they will be informed of increased cost of getting it from else where.

Only good thing at the moment if you have some scrap copper kicking around.

I never used to stripe 1.5mm and 2.5mm Anything under 6mm was chucked to the scrap yard as was. Now I strip it all. R138 per kg for bright the other day.

    Thats insane.
