    LED Light Flickering

    Hi All,

I have a problem with my light. They fitted one outdoor light, switched by a day/night sensor. The light is fed from the wires supplying a flouresent lamp. At night, it flickers (on and off), but when they test it during the day by closing the sensor, it works fine and according to their faultfinding, no loose connections found. What can be the problem?

Please assist. Thank you in advance for your help.

Does it still flicker if you remove the day/night sensor and just use a normal light switch? It might be that the output switch of the day/night sensor is solid state which could mean it isn't compatible with LED lamps.

We'll try connecting it on a normal switch to test. We want it switched by a sensor. Otherwise we will change the light as you mentioned that, the LED might be incompatible with the sensor if no fault on the system. Thank you AndyD.

I had no idea that a day night switch would have compatability issues with led lighting.
A problem that I am experiencing, and possibly you can assist me with this Andy, i have connected a 1.3 m led undercounted strip light powered by a standard led driver. But for switching I am using a Quickswitch unit. The light works fine but after they have been switched off, about 4 to 5 hours later they start pulsing ie flashing on and off. I have consulted with Quickswitch but they cannot assist. Any ideas??

Send JustLoadit a message - he explained this in a post a while back and he also explained how to solve the issue as I can recall.

Thank you Andy. The problem was a loose neutral on supply cable from main DB.
