Also, if you just need it for notification, then the only real certification that I can think of is some form of WiFi/433Hz certification.

Certification as in SABS / CE / CSA / UL.

I did a test today to verify that we have WiFi coverage ... 100 % everywhere in the factory ... that is a good start.
After installing a ASC unit in a commercial building last week to find there was no WiFi in the area where I installed the unit ... that was a little embarrasing ... I ended up just installing a 24 hour timer ... so it wasnt a total loss ... I wont make that mistake again.
For the price I am considering just using a device which is capable of switching and notification.

Sonoff had CE, FCC and EU certicifications according to their website.

There is the page with all their devices and the certifications.
Different model have different certifications of course.
Been scratching around ... to give you an idea what I am looking for.
When I am finished rebuilding the cooling tower control panel ... I want to add smart devices to the fan and pump motors which can send me a notification ... if you for any reason the pumps or the fan stop ... not only will the buzzer ... lights and siren in the factory notify the operators but will also receive a notification.
If anything in the factory is left running out of normal operation hours it will notify management so that the equipment can be switched off.
Then the last device I need is a moisture sensor ... placed in various locations.
