    Wifi Smart Timer

    Anyone instilled a wifi smart timer? Please tell me what is the E - to A1 and A2 standing for? And if i understand the drawing 1 is neutral and 2 is live? But its just a normally open contact so that makes no sense. Not sure how to load an image here. Its a ATMS1601

    Not what I expected ... normally it is the device coil.

    Yes it has a button on it built in. So A1 and A2 is left open? What about terminal 1 and 2? It looks like a normal open contact and according to the diagram 1 is neutral and 2 is live. That makes no sence either

    The drawing must be a printing error.

    Live to either 1 or 2 and then then the other left over is the load.

    I have wired many of these.

    So what did you do with A1 and A2 and the E? Cause i had live and neutral incoming on top and load at 1 and 2 but still doesn’t work

    Live and neutral to the top as labeled on timer.

    The live to 1 and load to 2.

    Leave a1 and a2 for now (they are for manual switching if you need and don’t want to physically go and do it on the timer)

    Is your timer the same as the link ians posted?

    Yes it’s the same. Thanks i told the client he needs to take it back as this one was not working. He is supposed to pic it up on his WiFi right? And switch his lights on via his phone

    The diagram is correct

    L-N = timer coil

    L = live
    N= neutral

    1-2 = switch

    2 - feed/supply for the normally open contact

    1 - return to the lamps

    The blue wire on the other side of the lamp is the neutral.

    A1-A2 = manual overides switches (like the green spring loaded start button or bell press ... like we use for dimmers)

    The way I see it ... you can use as many spring loaded normal open buttons connected in parrallel to switch the timer manually.

    How these WiFi timers/ smart controllers work.

    You first download the device app (the user) ... there is normally a QR code on or in the box which you scan and it links you to the app store.

    Register the user on the app ...either using the phone number or email address ... once the user is registered ... then you power up the device.

    Make sure the user is on the same network as the device ... then you pair the device (how to do this will be in the instruction manual) to the WiFi

    Then you go to the app and add devices ... search the dvice and laod it ... it will take a few seconds or minutes to pair to the phone ... then you read the instruction manual to set up shedules.

    Some devices will have a power button and either another button or a pin hole to reboot ... for this device you would need to connect a spring loaded normally open button to manual control the device.

    My opinion ... go get a CBI ASC ... I have installed a few of them already ... they work great (still a new product ...so time will tell if they are going to last) ... easy to install ... no external button to manually operate the device ... in saying that in some cases the external manual control could be rather handy.
