    Shift Worker Breaks

    Hi all,

In need of some assistance in answering the following please.

When working an 8 hour day, 40hr week. Normal hours are 08:00am - 16:30pm. The 30 minutes covers lunch time.

If for some reason you are asked to work a different shift for an extended period of time of a few months, let's say 15:00pm - 23:30pm, does the company still add the 30 minutes for lunch and your shift ends at 23:30 or is the 30 minute lunch not added and your shift then ends at 23:00? or is it the prerogative of the company in which way they treat the situation?

Lunch time is unpaid time - So to earn 8 hours pay you need to be at work for 8 hours and 30 minutes.
