    12 volt lighting

I finally got around to finishing off my 12 volt system using an exo 7 to control my backup lights ... what a flop.

An 18 amp hour battery with a 5 amp charger.

Exo 7 with a 4 button remote which can switch 7 different lights on/off

6 12VDC relays boards ... only capable of switching on down to 9.5 VDC

A 5 metre 12 VDC strip cut to fit inside the linear LEd light fittings which no longer work ...positioned in each room in the house.

So the issue ... due to the volt drop on the exo 7 (0.7 VDC) which doesnt sound like a lot ... but when working with a 12 VDC system is huge.

The idea was to add a solar panel at a later stage.

I am gona looking into building a 24 VDC system rather and hopefully reduce the effect of the small volt drop on the system.
Comments are based on opinion...not always facts....that's why people use an alias.

You can still salvage the system as is.
Use 24V battery, but insert a 12V SMPS at each point that has the controller on.
Provided the point does not draw more than 1Amp you can use this device from Mantech - 7812 which is very efficient and has very little loss. I suggest you add a 10uF 25V capacitor on the input side and on the output side. Easy to connect, Volts In, Ground/0V, Volts Out. You will need a soldering iron.
