    Something intristing

Was watching a video on youtube of the guys over in the uk doing tests on houses and such. I see something very nice which we will probably never get in South Africa. A plug top that can take test leads ! Funny enough I made my own contraption a few years ago and this made me go dig it up again

As unsafe as this thing looks it is still not very easy to reach life parts by just plugging it in and out normally.

major tech had a plug top with sockets to insert test leads ... i did a search for it ... but couldnt find it ... I will check the mt number and get back to you.

I use it with the mt 250 to do voltage recordings on socket outlets.

    edit .... MTL-20 socket adaptor.

I use a kettle or computer lead lead. Plug it in, switch the power on and you have lovely, safe receptacles to take your readings.

    Peace out .. Derek

It's available from RS Components but it's double the price...https://za.rs-online.com/web/c/test-...r-accessories/

Good news ... I contacted major tech today and enquired about the MTL 20 ... they have 600 in stock ... List price R109 ex vat (you will get it cheaper from a wholesaler.)

They are not advertised anywhere ... you will not find one on thier website or in thier new catalogs ... but they do have stock in JHB.

As i am sure some of you have noticed I am not a huge fan of major tech M series products ... but I give this MTL 20 10/10 ... an brilliant product which makes testing a lot easier ... you can either push a standard probe into th unit or remove the point and plug in the cable only.

I have one on site at the moment with the MT 250 plugged into it.
