    As there is more interest in Solar as an alternative energy source, we need to become familiar with the technology.

    And copper theft being a massive safety issue.

    I was called out to an industrial site which was expreriencig a a few "ground fault" issues with new equipent installed ... using my earth grounding current clamp ... to find the entire earth mat had be been stolen ... putting everyone on site at risk ... 12 x 11 kv transfomers ... no earth mat ... eeeeeeish.

    Lets not even talk about solar panels and the rate they are being stolen.

    another security tip ... install a industrial door mags (waterproof) in series under your solar panels ... then either run wires back to your alarm panel or fit a wireless receiver door with a lead or a I/O module ...setup using a 24 hr alarm zone or a priority zone ... someone lifts your solar panel a notification is sent to your phone or the larm company.
