    alternate supplies

Installing DC cabling from batteries or solar power in plastic or in metal trunking or steel cable tray?

Installing open DC cabling from sloar panels in a closed trunking or exposed on a steel cable tray, taking heat and UV and all the other things into account.

The one problem with DC is that if there is a fault, the arcing will continue burning until there is a break in the supply.

See this site for examples of what you should NOT do, it is an eye opener
