Covid-19 kills blacks unequally-don't be surprised

A doctor at Ala Stanford University, but now her office is a parking lot, a street corner, and the sidewalk outside the Philadelphia Baptist Church. Stanford University led a mobile team of doctors who took the free Covid-19 test to the community hardest hit by the virus in Philadelphia: the underserved black community. Across the United States, blacks are infecting and dying of Covid-19 at an extremely disproportionate rate, and in some areas, they are not as frequently tested for the virus as whites.

I am not surprised after watching the mass mobs ... mass destruction ... looting etc etc ... did people think they would be immune just because they were rioting?

Comments are based on opinion...not always facts....that's why people use an alias.

There is a simple, but very important principle in nature called "Cause and Effect". The choices that you make, determines the outcome of your future. If you choose to be lazy and not study, you will stay stupid and always dependent on someone to care for you. If you choose to do drugs, you will become addicted and unable to focus on the important things in your life. If you choose not to work, you will stay poor. If you choose to disregard discipline and rules, you will land in trouble. If you want to dress like a gangster, don't be surprised to be accordingly profiled by law enforcement. If you keep on blaming others for your terrible existence, you will never be able to solve your own issues and get ahead in life.

Anarchy and looting has never solved any problems, but has exacerbated problems, as scarce funds that could be used to assist people, have to be applied to repairs.

Take charge of your life, take your hands out of your pockets and be that best that you can be. Only then you can be truly free and independent and not have others wipe your ass for you!
Excellence is not a skill; its an attitude...

    My wife infected with covid19

My wife had to go to the hospital without sneezing due to fever, high temperature, severe coughing, and difficulty breathing in November. The doctor said it was not flu. Not that "covid19 appears because of this", but that this is a new type of flu.

You must remember that tRump will claim that HE has THE GREATEST BESTEST BIGGEST FLU BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!

On a serious note - There are millions of viruses and they all mutate all the time....The term NEW is a bit of a misnomer unless proved so by multiple laboratories in multiple countries.

New figures show COVID-19 damage to people of color; leaders call for better data collection

People of color all over the country and Multnomah County suffer a disproportionate burden of disease and death (link is external) from COVID-19.

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins University report (link is external) found, for example, that in states reporting racial and ethnic data on COVID-19 cases, blacks and African Americans make up only 13% of the population. But in these states, black residents account for about one-third of COVID-19 deaths.

These inequalities have spread to Oregon, where people of color are overrepresented in cases and are more likely to suffer complications of the virus.

The most obvious gap is: Latin Americans account for 13% of the state’s population and 27% of cases. This gap was caused by an outbreak in Washington County, where nearly half of the people were positive (the link is external) because the virus was identified as Latin-more than double the number of Hispanic residents in Washington County.

    Dear Lulula,

You seem to be confused about the purpose of this website. As already warned, this is a discussion forum, not a bulletin board. As such, if you start a topic, you are expected to engage with responders in a conversation.

This isn't happening, and quite clearly isn't going to happen.
    So goodbye now
