    VIP Payroll and TERS

    Good day to All,
I would like to know how will payroll processing be done when TERS claims have been paid to employees?
When an employee's normal earning is R10 000 per month, and received R3500 from TERS, how will the TERS Benefit reflect on the payslip?
    Many thanks

    Hello
Did you manage to establish how to administer this?

UIF TERS benefits do not form part of the employee's income. So my plan at this point is to not rely on my payroll program to process the TERS distribution.

I have opened a current liability account in my accounting package which is the counter of the bank entries, both receipts and payments made. With appropriate comments against each entry, it will make a perfect trail when it comes to audit time.

Perhaps also to mention where an employee is getting some salary, and a TERS benefit as well, I intend making separate payments.

  4. Thanks given for this post:

    Hi Amanda,
I phoned VIP customer support, they suggest inserting an earnings line (no TAX) earnings code 3602 (for IRP5). This will allow the staff to have the information on their payslips.
Have a safe and blessed day
