    Samsung S9 plus battery drain

I have the above mobile device for just over a year now. Battery is normally very good.
My experience is that with 100% charged battery at night and wifi and mobile data off, the device lost about 4% overnight, say 8 hours.
In the last 2 weeks it has been losing 25-30% battery in standby.
During the day by battery drain is normal like it always was.
As a test I put it in Airplane mode and lost only 3% overnight.

I have searched the net for a possible solution and came up with nothing.
My only correlation is that a software update ran a few weeks ago. I cannot be sure that the battery drain on standby is directly linked to the software update.

Would appreciate any advise from the tech savvy members.

I don't know if this will help you but it does show interesting results. Put a firewall like "NoRoot Firewall" on your phone and set it up so that it is very strict. You will see that the phone tries to spend 99% of its time chatting away to the internet. It tries to use WiFi and if it fails it tries the cell network. If it can't get through on top of one app it tries on top of another. Android is an absolutely terrible platform that wastes 99% of your bandwidth.

Thanks for the reply. I will do that as a last resort. I need to figure out what is causing the battery to drain overnight. I way I leave my phone at night has not changed so want to know what changed before adding another app.
