Sounds like a very sophisticated power surge arrestor and expensive

    Hi Ian

Price a bit steep, but looks good. Haven't used this unit.

I have however used the Fridge Safe unit from Ellies rated at 5A together with a single pole contactor for more oomph.
This combination 25A works out at about R1200.

Cheers & peace out .... Derek.

Interesting some 10 years back a made a product which I sell into Mozambique and locally called a Fridge Guard, which works well. Have had it on my fridges and to date with all the power issues have not had a fridge failure. This included a holiday home in Limpopo which had major voltage issues.

The Fridge Guard comes in two low cost models for home , office or factory use. Namely a 16 Amp resistive (8 Amp inductive) and a 30 Amp resistive (20 Amp inductive load) versions.
Typical applications include, refrigerators, electric motors, electric mixers, sensitive control equipment, lighting equipment, etc.

3 coloured light emitting diodes provide positive feedback to the user, showing the status of the mains supply at all times.

Red - Over Volt, supply over 265Volts
Green- Under Volt, supply less than 186Volts
Flash Yellow - Wait to start, voltage within 186 and 265Volts
Yellow - Volt O.K., load connected to mains and voltage between 186 and 265Volts.
5 minute delay after voltage recovery or power up delay.

ABB also do a din rail clip in voltage monitoring relay at 22,5mm wide at around 3K - You need to fit a contactor to match the load

I have a customer who only wants ABB products installed... What separates ABB from the rest is their circuit breakers have a dual terminal ...so you dont have to squeeze 2 wires in one terminal...you pay more but at least you get what you pay for.
