    Cheap switches and sockets

So i have been buying MES products for a while now... cheap cheap...for light duty stuff they do the job... I took a chance and connected a row of lights in a factory to one of these cheapie switches ...it arced in the on position the next day ...replace it with a clipsal switch at twice the price ...lets see how long it lasts.

I have looked at an invoice for a crabtree socket and cover R75.30 + R25.50 ...A little over the top if you ask me ...from personal experience these are "NOT" the best sockets ...however i had to install a weather proof plug for a customer...it proves to be a small challenge removing the covers from an MES socket.

My question is what brand of switches and sockets are you using ?
Comments are based on opinion...not always facts....that's why people use an alias.

    Hi

Have to agree that Crabtree are overpriced and there stock holding is pathetic - We have had a contrct for the past 14 months where we had to use Crabtree Diamond and even after warning the Crabtree reps with the qty involved we have been short delivered on ever order .

Lesco has a range similar to the classic range and works in a waterproof box

We use whatever the customer specifies

I have also used Onesto and have had no issues in both residential and commercial - Even used them in a fast food installation and had no problem in the kitchen area with them

The quality of Onesto might be ok, but because of their round corners, they look horrible when used on a surface box with the corners of the boxes prodruding.
