    How is tourism this December?

We're currently in PE visiting family (a trip that we make most years), but it feels a lot quieter than other years. Is it just me, or is anyone else noticing quieter holiday destinations?

It could just be my perception, or the way the holidays are falling this year. I've been wondering whether it is the rising interest rates and fuel prices which are causing people to holiday closer to home.

Any thoughts from those of you in the tourism industry?

I'm not in tourism, but it does feel a bit quieter. I went to the cricket and there was not that many people either.

Its business as usual for us, but I believe Durban was a bit quieter than in previous years.

Now....to January where we will see the real effects of all the economic chickens coming home to roost.

Sounds like you've got the same feeling as me about the coming year, Marq.

Time to swim against the tide?
