    Rental issue

    If I'm renting in an outbuilding. And i pay water and sewer of a municipal bill which is split between two house... Do i also have to pay the vat amount?

    Hi Jamie
    If my memory serves me correctly you have to be a vat vendor and secondly you are only liable for vat if there's a supply of goods and services and also both parties as to be vat vendors.
    So I would think no you are not liable.

    You are liable for your portion of the vat. If you have an invoice from a supplier who is a vat vendor and you are a vat vendor then you can submit a claim for a vat refund. If either one of you is not a registered vat vendor you cannot claim a refund.
