I really feel for you Durban crowd.

East London. Documents correct with proof of payment. Walk in. 15 minutes later walk out with new 3 year registration form. Very friendly and great service.

    Regards ... Derek

I always wonder why this is possible. Registered at Port Shepstone, have to wait 4 weeks. When I was in Gauteng in and out within 30 min.

To avoid a repeat of last year's stuff around handed me at the DoL Durban office (nearly 3 months turnaround time!), I renewed through the Pretoria office of the ECA (SA) this year. I could not believe the difference.

    Pay the money.
Send a scan of the existing certificates.
At the end of the next day they could already email back a scan of the renewed registration.

The only delay was getting the original back down to Durban - the ECA (SA) just needs to refine that part of the deal. But I suppose if you're prepared to have yours couriered individually instead of with others in a batch, you could get that part done quicker if you absolutely need the original urgently.

Unfortunately that doesn't work here by us.

No bank or attorney will accept the COC without a copy of your DOL registration letter.
