Pastel Updating Continuously

Please help - I am learning new swearwords from my wife!!

She uses Pastel accounting and for the last couple of days/weeks every time she starts it, Pastel wants to download and update - Pastel Payroll 2020 Update 1B - and install it. With the help of Pastel call centre I successfully installed the update and all was OK until she restarted her PC and it all started again. Has to download and install and reboot etc.

She has Pastel Partner V18 and Payroll 2020.

Hi Paul

They have certain common files which are conflicting. It might be user security rights. Go to the control panel - user accounts - change user account control settings - slide the slider down to the bottom (Never) and accept if prompted to do so. Reboot. Open Partner and let it do the payroll update. If the problem goes away, all well and good. If not, see below. Leave UAC set to never.

Uninstall both products from the control panel programs and features menu. Remove the Sage Pastel Accounting Version 18. Also remove the Payroll 2020 Update 1b and the Pastel Payroll - South Africa products. Reboot the machine. Download Payroll 2020 Update 1d (Full package) from the url below.

Install Payroll. Reboot. Allow it to install the extras after the reboot. Install the Partner package. 18.2.1 can be downloaded from the below url.

Reboot the machine before you try open either product.
