    Valid point on safety, however is that the real reason? I am sure a nice visible warning sign outside a property using solar would suffice like electric fences...

    Eskom is losing out on revenue, so register your panels and later the licencing fees will creep in.
    This from an article a year ago.
    THE National Energy Regulator (Nersa) has drafted new regulations which require citizens to register and pay licence fees for their generator or solar panels, whether connected to the grid or not.
